If you fail to long jump over the big gap then you will end up in the gulch. Using kicks, frame walks, head bonks, and even just running, you'd be up to where most people care about in a flash. In sm64js it is very easy to climb, even without the warps. The top of the Mountain is the fist fight arena, but nobody uses it.
